Job Summary
Assist radiographers with portable radiographic procedures and patient handling, prepare patients and exam rooms, transport patients and supplies, and help maintain room cleanliness and stock. Support includes securing transport equipment (stretcher, wheelchair), ensuring proper patient identification, logging data into the radiology information system, and helping with overall quality assurance, safety, and infection control in the department. Role supports adult and geriatric patient care within the Diagnostic Imaging division under supervision, performing related duties as required and fostering a patient- and family-centered approach.
Required Qualifications
- Equivalent to high school diploma
- Minimum of three months’ experience, preferably in a patient-care setting
- Healthcare environment such as acute care hospitals, physicians’ offices and ancillary healthcare enterprises
- Works with medical and office equipment; has direct patient contact
- Ability to read and write English and perform basic arithmetic computations to verify shipments and complete records
- Demonstrated ability to provide care considering aging processes and cultural patterns
