Job Summary
Perform diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging examinations during surgery as specified by the surgeon, assisting with fluoroscopic procedures and monitoring patients throughout operations. Operate radiographic and computerized imaging equipment, including processing radiographs and archiving acquired data into the radiology information system. Monitor equipment performance and enter relevant data while adhering to safe radiation protection practices and aseptic techniques. This role operates within the Lower Mainland Medical Imaging health authorities, requiring a CAMRT certification and one year of recent related experience. Applicants must hold CPR certification and demonstrate knowledge of digital imaging storage networks such as PACS.
Required Qualifications
- Certification with the CAMRT
- A minimum of one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques
- Theory and practice for general radiology, fluoroscopic and interventional procedures
- Safe work procedures with radiology equipment
- Imaging acquisition applications and digital imaging storage and distribution networks such as PACS
- Research process and methodology
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
- Ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others
- CPR techniques
- Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care
- Indigenous Cultural Safety
- Competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Basic computer literacy to operate a computerized patient care information system
