Job Summary
Perform and acquire proper radiology exams under Radiologist direction, operating equipment in ambulatory or acute care settings. Adjust techniques for pediatric, geriatric, febrile, and acute care patients while obtaining orders, paperwork, and billing information. Educate patients on prep instructions, enter exams into the Radiology Information System, and coordinate patient transportation and scheduling. Maintain PACS knowledge, report equipment malfunctions, and follow infection-control policies and radiation protection protocols. Assist physicians in procedures, provide learning environments for students, and participate in on-call rotations for evenings, weekends, and holidays as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
- Radiology Program Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- American Heart Association (AHA)
- Radiologic Technologist (RT)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as directed by the department leader
- Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department
