Job Summary
Conduct routine and special radiological surveys, including contamination, radiation, and airborne radioactivity monitoring, while collecting and analyzing air samples and smears. Implement contamination control measures, establish control boundaries, and manage personnel dosimetry programs. Respond to radiological alarms, support incident investigations, and ensure all work complies with Radiological Work Permits and TDEC, OSHA, and site-specific requirements. Maintain accurate records, operate monitoring instruments, and assist in training personnel on safety practices. Requires an Associate degree in Health Physics or related field, 5+ years of radiological control experience, and US citizenship. Security clearance may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Health Physics, Radiation Protection, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 5+ years of experience in radiological control, preferably in nuclear or chemical manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of radiological protection principles, contamination control, and monitoring techniques
- Experience with radiological instrumentation and survey methods
- Ability to interpret procedures, regulations, and technical guidance
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and radiological data systems
- United States Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain a security Clearance if required
