Job Summary
Start up and shut down all X-Ray equipment, properly identify patients, and confirm ordered examinations. Prepares patients for radiological procedures, conducts x-rays following established safety protocols, and obtains detailed patient histories. Use radiation shielding materials, ensure equipment functionality, and report malfunctions to the Lead Radiologic Technologist. Complete procedures in the EMR, obtain pre-authorization for CT scans, and verify report availability in the patient's chart. Clarify discrepancies with medical providers, clean and stock the site, and perform basic medical assisting duties to support patient flow. No on-call responsibilities or overnight shifts required. Salary starts at $31.00 per hour with competitive benefits including PTO, 401(k) match, and annual CE reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Mastery of best practice x-ray procedures and protocols
- Understanding of the anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement
- Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards common to radiology
- Capability to identify equipment issues and troubleshoot problems
- Capacity to apply written instructions and standardized work practices and protocols
- Friendly and outstanding customer service skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Minimum High School degree or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, or a current student with an upcoming graduation date within the next 4-6 months (offer contingent upon successful graduation and ability to obtain required certifications and licensures)
- Active ARRT (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification and Registration
- Applicable state licensure (as required by state)
- Active Driver's License
