Job Summary
Start up and shut down X-Ray equipment, travel to designated locations to perform exams per the worklist, and prepare patients following established safety protocols. Obtain patient histories, use radiation shielding, and ensure equipment functions by reporting malfunctions to the Lead Technologist. Complete procedures in the EMR, secure pre-authorizations for CT scans, and confirm reports in PACS. Clean and stock the site, participate in quality control, and support patient flow by greeting patients and triaging calls. This role includes no on-call or overnight shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Mastery of best practice x-ray procedures and protocols
- Understanding of the anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement
- Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards common to radiology
- Capability to identify equipment issues and troubleshoot problems
- Capacity to apply written instructions and standardized work practices and protocols
- Friendly and outstanding customer service skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Minimum High School degree or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, or a current student with an upcoming graduation date within the next 4-6 months
- Active ARRT (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification and Registration
- Applicable state licensure (as required by state)
- Active Driver's License
