Job Summary
Start up and shut down all X-Ray equipment and travel to designated locations to perform exams per the worklist. Prepares patients for procedures, obtains histories, and conducts x-rays following safety protocols while using radiation shielding. Ensures equipment functions appropriately, reports malfunctions, and completes procedures in the EMR with pre-authorization for CT scans. Confirms exam availability in PACS, clarifies discrepancies with providers, and cleans and stocks the site. Performs basic medical assisting duties including patient greeting, registration, and phone triage. Requires active ARRT certification, state licensure, driver's license, and mastery of x-ray protocols. No on-call or overnight shifts required.
Required Qualifications
- Mastery of best practice x-ray procedures and protocols
- Understanding of the anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement
- Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards common to radiology
- Capability to identify equipment issues and troubleshoot problems
- Capacity to apply written instructions and standardized work practices and protocols
- Friendly and outstanding customer service skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Minimum High School degree or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, or a current student with an upcoming graduation date within the next 4-6 months (offer contingent upon successful graduation and ability to obtain required certifications and licensures)
- Active ARRT (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification and Registration
- Applicable state licensure (as required by state)
- Active Driver's License
- No on-call responsibilities or overnight shifts required
