Job Summary
Perform all routine radiographic procedures and fluoroscopic exams, including gastrointestinal studies, ERCPs, arthrography, and portable X-ray C-arm procedures, under the direction of a Workflow Coordinator or supervisor. Provide proper clinical patient care while conducting diagnostic imaging, ensuring accurate computer documentation and careful critique of image quality. Mentor students in clinical and ethical aspects of the profession, maintain stock levels of personal protection equipment, and adhere to infection control standards. Possess advanced math skills in physics to set radiologic exposure levels, speak and write in English, and maintain bilingual Spanish capabilities if desired.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to speak, read and write using the English language
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Must pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board
- Must have a State of Connecticut License to practice Radiographic technical procedures or receive within 3 months of graduation
- Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire
- Must be fully knowledgeable and capable of performing independently in at least two modalities
- Must have a complete working knowledge in the principals of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile technique and radiation protection as it relates to Radiology practice
- Must meet the HHC age specific knowledge/skill requirement
- Must annually complete HHC mandatory education program
