Job Summary
Operate and perform radiographic procedures under radiologist supervision to aid in diagnosis, applying ALARA principles, ensuring quality studies, labeling films correctly, encoding patient information, and maintaining equipment and room readiness. Communicates effectively with patients and staff, educates patients about procedures, supports department quality improvement, and demonstrates flexibility to cover shifts; responsibilities include clerical duties, patient identification, and adherence to safety, infection control, and hospital policies. Opportunities exist for career growth into other radiology modalities and participation in department procedures and interdepartmental collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of approved School of Radiological Technology
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Licensed by the Massachusetts Radiation Control Board
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
