Radiologic Technologist II (34 Hours/Week)

Job Summary
Obtain patient histories, select technical factors per ALARA principles, and produce quality radiographs using ionizing radiation. Operate equipment including C-Arms, process films, and assemble images for interpretation while maintaining orderliness and cleanliness. Assist patients in transport, manage supply inventories, and troubleshoot equipment failures. Utilize RIS, EHR, and PACS systems for scheduling, data correction, and report retrieval. Provide orientation to new staff and adhere to strict radiation safety, OSHA, and incident reporting policies across Ambulatory Surgery, Pain Clinic, and Diagnostic Radiology.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an approved A.C.R. school or must be a graduate of a JRCERT approved school of Radiology
- Must provide proof of current active certification with the ARRT
- Must maintain current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography
- May have temporary accreditation in Radiography with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Division of Nuclear Safety
- CPR per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire
- Must be able to adjust to various personalities
- Must have the ability to control emotions and maintain composure under stress, using tact and good judgment
- Must possess manual dexterity to use keyboard and handle equipment and appliances
- Must have the ability to perform occasional heavy lifting, i.e. transferring patients to x-ray tables
- Must be capable of pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, lifting and twisting
- Must be able with help to lift patient from cart to table
- Must be able to work with arms above head
- Must be able to wear lead apron for long periods of time
- Must be able to walk and/or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to assist patient to and from the table
- Must maintain professional behavior
- Must comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures
- Must adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy
- Must provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards
- Must work in a specialty location (i.e. ASC, Ortho, Urgent Care etc.) at least 80% of the time and/or take part in the departmental weekend and holiday rotation
- Or working as a Float, defined by the Imaging Operations Manager
- Knowledge of computer systems: RIS (to include, but not limited to scheduling/rescheduling/replacing exams, completing exams, patient history, enter comments, enter stop payments and print features)
- Knowledge of EHR
- Knowledge of PACS
- Knowledge of Employee Benefit system
- Knowledge of Radiology home page
- Knowledge of sterile procedure and of sterilization procedure for sterile supplies
- Knowledge of general scheduler duties
- Knowledge of Prompt Care workflow
- Knowledge of workflow to obtain reports on images
- Knowledge of DR/DRX image acquisition and manipulation, including correcting data regarding patient information and image detail in PACS
- Knowledgeable of all procedures and protocols in the Surgery department, Pain Clinic and Radiology department
- Ability to operate a C-Arm if working in ASC/Pain Clinic
