Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure cooperation. Prepare and administer contrast media or medications when ordered, monitoring patient condition and reporting status changes. Prepare equipment, select exposure factors, implement safety standards, and troubleshoot malfunctions. Position patients, perform imaging procedures, analyze results for quality issues, and transmit images. Work within scope of practice requiring critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R)
- Specialty ARRT certification(s) if required for position
- State licensure if required by law
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
