Job Summary
Conduct general radiology and fluoroscopic imaging across the radiology, emergency department, surgery, and portable bedside service areas. Perform examinations using departmental protocols, position patients, select technical factors for optimum imaging, and review orders while correlating clinical history. Prepare sterile fields, contrast agents, and surgical supplies; assist radiologists during procedures and operate imaging systems. Post-process images for Radiologist interpretation and transmit them to the PACS system. Maintain equipment, report malfunctions, and apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure. Provide compassionate patient communication, dismiss patients for transport, and function as part of the resuscitation team during Code Blue situations. Rotate on-call responsibilities for General Radiology service areas.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in radiologic technology from accredited school
- two (2) years of directly related experience
- Radiographer License (Hawaii)
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
- Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
