Job Summary
Provide quality diagnostic imaging with accuracy and efficiency by operating X-Ray equipment, positioning patients, and setting exposure factors to minimize repeat rates. Utilize the VIP transportation system for patient delivery and process images through PACS while tracking exams in the Radiology Information system. Assist with patient transport, train student technologists, and perform quality control and assurance to report equipment variances. Gather complete documentation, verify patient identity, and charge exams as required. This role involves rotating through general radiology exams based on workflow needs in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited diagnostic radiography program that meets current qualifications to take and pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) board examinations in Radiography upon hire.
- Student candidates must obtain the RT (R) (ARRT) certification within 6 months of their hire date.
- Candidates must have a current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) temporary license for student hires and permanent license for registered hires.
- Positions within person patient care: BLS certificate within 30 days of hire or prior to independent practice, whichever comes first
- Must have demonstrated skills in the following areas: Performing diagnostic imaging studies, Radiation safety, Effective use of equipment, Record maintenance, Infection control, Quality control, Compliance, Patient Communication, Contrast media, problem solving, judgment, teamwork and taking initiative.
Desired Qualifications
- OHSU-partnered Radiologic Technology program experience.
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience; Academic Medical Center experience.
