Job Summary
Radiologic Technologist needed at a hospital in Athens, GA. Role involves producing high-quality diagnostic X-ray images, including portable exams in ER/ICU/patient rooms, while adhering to ALARA principles and radiation safety. Responsibilities include positioning patients, selecting appropriate technical factors, labeling/transmitting images to PACS, assisting radiologists with fluoroscopic procedures (e.g., upper GI, barium enema, arthrograms), documenting examinations in EMR/RIS, and maintaining equipment and a safe work environment. Requires an accredited Radiology program completion (Associate's or Bachelor's degree), active GA LRT license, ARRT certification, current BLS, and at least one year of Radiologic Technologist experience. Proficiency with X-ray equipment, C-arms, PACS, and knowledge of radiation safety and patient care is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited Radiology program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology)
- Licensure: Active GA state license (LRT) and current BLS Certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification is required
- Experience: At least one year of relevant field experience as a Radiologic Technologist is required
- Technical Skills: Proficient in operating X-ray equipment (fixed and portable), C-arms, and PACS; patient positioning; radiation safety (ALARA); image critique
- Soft Skills: attention to detail; patient communication; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations; position patients; follow ALARA principles; verify orders and patient status; process and review images; operate imaging equipment; assist radiologists with fluoroscopic procedures; document examinations in EMR/RIS; maintain a safe work environment
