Job Summary
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy across multiple departments while ensuring patient safety and adherence to physician orders. Operate and maintain imaging equipment, troubleshoot functional issues, and prepare rooms for efficient patient flow. Position and educate patients, monitor their status during exams, and respond promptly to emergencies or adverse reactions. Document imaging results and patient information accurately in the electronic health record to support billing and care planning. Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize workflow and assist in treatment planning. Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited school of Radiographic Technology
- Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) license in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently independently
- Ability to assist with heavier weights (75–100+ pounds) with team lift or mechanical equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
- Ability to interpret, prepare and maintain patient information using the electronic medical record
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity
- Ability to perform the primary duties and responsibilities of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Strong general imaging experience
- Knowledge of radiation safety and protection standards
- Knowledge of imaging principles
- Knowledge of diagnostic imaging equipment and technology
- Ability to make sound decisions and practice critical thinking
- Skilled in therapeutic communication
- Skilled in performing service recovery
- Ability to work effectively with people from various backgrounds
