Job Summary
Conduct intricate radiographic examinations while preparing and administering contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations. Maintain high accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique while ensuring radiation protection and safety for patients and staff. Serve as the primary liaison between patients, radiologists, and the support team by assessing physical and emotional needs through effective communication and patient monitoring. Utilize professional judgment and critical thinking to deliver quality improvement and customer service, embracing continuing education to enhance technical competence and public education. This full-time night shift role at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital requires an ARRT-registered radiologic technologist with a BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology either hospital based or college degree program
- Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Competency in components of radiography practice as appropriate
- Radiation safety and protection
- Technical expertise
- Knowledge of anatomy

- Clerical accuracy

- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- ARRT registered within six (6) months of graduation
- BLS

- Newly registered graduates from approved Radiology Technology program
- Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
- High degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique
- Knowledge about radiation protection and safety
- Prepare for and assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate radiographic examinations
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Primary liaison between patients and Radiologists and other members of the support team
- Sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient
- Good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring and patient care skills
