Job Summary
Operate imaging equipment to produce radiographs of designated body areas, select proper technical factors, and position patients while providing radiation protection. Assist physicians in administering opaque media and perform all department functions from clerical to technical tasks as needed. Maintain patient flow, coordinate imaging procedures, and manage records with working knowledge of patient orders and charges. Troubleshoot lazar printing equipment and PACS systems, and maintain quality control for the designated area. Participate in on-call assignments and work schedule changes per department needs, while attending staff meetings and in-service programs. Transport and position patients, and instruct ancillary personnel as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT (R)
- BLS Certification following American Heart Association guidelines
- Required CRT license
- fluoro permit
- One to five years experience as a staff technologist
- All required vaccinations
- E-Verify participation
- Able to maintain a positive professional manner in dealing with many individuals and situations often involving stressful or difficult circumstances
- Able to organize and maintain good follow-up
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor
- Close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Conform with all HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations
- Perform frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions
- Assist physician in administering opaque media
- Assist with performing all department functions; clerical through technical, as needed
- Attend staff meetings and in-service programs
- Take responsibility for ongoing continuing education
- Instruct and train ancillary personnel as necessary and assist with cross training of other x-ray personnel
- Maintain and meet expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements
- Maintain and troubleshoot lazar printing equipment and PACS
- Maintain patient flow and coordination of other imaging procedures
- Maintain records
- Show working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges and profiles
- Maintain quality control for designated area and participate in hospital-wide quality assurance program

Desired Qualifications
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: One to five years experience as a staff technologist preferred
