Job Summary
Operate imaging equipment to produce radiographs of designated body areas, selecting proper technical factors and providing safe, age-appropriate care. Assist physicians in administering opaque media and transport or position patients while ensuring radiation protection. Maintain patient flow, coordinate imaging procedures, and manage records with working knowledge of orders and charges. Troubleshoot lazar printing equipment and PACS systems, maintain quality control for the designated area, and participate in hospital-wide quality assurance programs. Assist with department functions ranging from clerical to technical tasks as needed. Attend staff meetings and in-service programs, taking responsibility for ongoing continuing education. Instruct and train ancillary personnel as necessary, assist with cross-training of other x-ray staff, and maintain competencies, licenses, and certifications per local administration and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in on-call assignments and schedule changes when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT (R)
- BLS Certification following American Heart Association guidelines
- Required CRT license
- fluoro permit
- One to five years experience as a staff technologist
- All required vaccinations
- E-Verify participation
- Ability to maintain a positive professional manner in dealing with many individuals and situations often involving stressful or difficult circumstances
- Ability to organize and maintain good follow-up
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Conform with all HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions
- Close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Demonstrate a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor
- Category 3 for potential exposure to blood/body fluids
Desired Qualifications
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: One to five years experience as a staff technologist preferred
