Job Summary
Operates radiographic equipment in the cardiovascular department, including the cardiac catheterization laboratory, adhering to ALARA principles; prepares and operates related equipment (ISTAT, AVOXimeter, Hemochron); maintains radiographic rooms and equipment; provides direct patient care and supports physicians during procedures; participates in on-call schedules and case scheduling; assists in inventory management and patient charge reviews; requires ARRT certification, Iowa Permit to Practice, BLS and ACLS within 6 months of hire, and mandatory reporter training; contributes to safe, efficient operation and patient-centered care in interventional radiology/cardiovascular procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Education sufficient to obtain required licensure/certifications
- Iowa Permit to Practice required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology required
- Certification as Cardiovascular Technologist preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire
- Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse and Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required
- Must obtain and maintain sedation and EKG competency annually
