Job Summary
Collaborate with medical providers and assistants to manage patient care, verify patient information, and conduct point-of-care testing including vital signs and flu screenings. Perform and analyze patient x-rays by applying ionizing radiation for diagnosis, ensuring proper positioning and radiation safety protocols. Prepare equipment for daily controls and calibration, maintain quality assurance logs, and troubleshoot breakdowns. Document procedures in electronic systems, conduct courtesy call-backs, and verify image quality for radiologist interpretation. Support clinic operations to ensure efficient center function while providing clear explanations to patients.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- Experience in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement
- Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology
- Ability to position patients properly for the X-ray procedure required
- Ability to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor
- Ability to follow infection control and radiological safety procedures
- Ability to adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable)
