Job Summary
As a Radiographer/X-Ray Technologist, you will perform radiographic procedures under the direction of the Lead Technologist and/or Site Manager. Responsibilities include maintaining radiographic positioning accuracy, ensuring radiation protection, interacting with patients, and documenting medical histories. The role requires understanding of human anatomy and proficient operation of X-ray equipment, as well as the ability to evaluate image quality in collaboration with Radiologists. Physical demands include handling patients, equipment, and maintaining a clean workspace, alongside fulfilling clerical duties as needed. Candidates must possess necessary certifications and licenses, including ARRT certification.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a course of study in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Successful completion of the national certification exam
- Current radiologic technologist license from the Rhode Island Department of Health
- Certification must be completed within 6 months of date of hire
- Must remain in good standing with ARRT and maintain 24 credits per 2-year cycle with 1 credit being in radiation protection
- Must have and maintain additional accreditation and/or certification(s) required by the State, Federal Government, and RIMI
