Job Summary
Manage routine production of PET radiotracers by synthesizing, purifying, and characterizing novel imaging probes to support preclinical and clinical research programs. Develop and optimize radiolabeling methods for emerging molecular imaging agents, transitioning promising tracers from research-scale synthesis to GMP-compliant production when appropriate. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, produce, and deliver specialized probes while adhering to GMP, radiation safety, and institutional quality standards. Analyze experimental data, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings through written documentation and scientific discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Minimum of THREE (3) years of radiochemistry experience
- Demonstrated expertise in the synthesis of novel positron emission tomography (PET) imaging probes, particularly those labeled with fluorine-18 (18F) and zirconium-89 (89Zr)
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) radiopharmaceutical production
- A strong background in radiochemistry and analytical chemistry
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust
- Approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding
Desired Qualifications
- PhD preferred
- Experience with automated synthesis platforms including GE TRACERlab and Trasis AllinOne modules
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, service-oriented research environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and in a team setting
- Outstanding interpersonal and time management skills
- Demonstrated experience in staff training and mentoring
