Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair wireless communication systems including two-way radios, dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, and trunked radio systems. Perform system programming, install and configure mobile and fixed units, and conduct diagnostic testing to resolve technical issues. Provide customer support via person, phone, and electronic channels while preparing project quotes and technical recommendations. Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers to coordinate service delivery and adhere to safety protocols. Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours urgent support, travel locally and regionally including overnight assignments, and respond to emergency communication needs. This hands-on role combines field and shop-based work in active job sites and equipment rooms, requiring a valid driver's license and 3 to 5 years of experience with RF systems.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with two-way radio and wireless communication systems
- Strong working knowledge of RF theory, DC and AC electrical systems, and technical troubleshooting
- Experience working with Dispatch systems and consoles
- Experience working with Trunked radio systems
- Experience working with Mobile radio installations
- Experience working with Antennas, transmitters, and receivers
- Proficiency with computers and technical software used for diagnostics and programming
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift equipment and work in physically active conditions
- Flexibility to support emergency communication systems, which may require overtime or rapid response
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or vocational training in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field
- FCC License
- NARTE or ETA CET certification
- NABER certification
- Experience supporting public safety or mission-critical communication systems
