Radio Operator – Offshore Jackup Rig

Job Summary
Operate and monitor VHF, HF, and satellite communication systems for rig operations, relaying messages between crew, vessels, helicopters, and onshore teams while maintaining emergency channels 24/7. Serve as the primary contact for emergency broadcasts, coordinating with the Qatar Coast Guard and supply boats during incidents, and conduct daily radio checks and equipment tests. Record all communications in the logbook, file daily reports, and perform basic troubleshooting of radio equipment. Maintain compliance with maritime and aviation regulations. Requires 2+ years of offshore experience, GMDSS license, and BOSIET/FOET certifications. Rotation is 35 days on/35 days off in Qatar.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years as a Radio Operator (offshore/maritime preferred)
- Familiarity with GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System)
- BOSIET/FOET with HUET
- GMDSS Radio Operator License
- H2S Awareness & Basic Firefighting
- Fluent in English
- Strong communication skills
- Multitasking skills
- Crisis response skills
