Job Summary
Radiation Therapist delivering ionizing radiation per Radiation Oncologist prescription, performing CT simulations, SBRT/SRS setups, and image-guided verification. Responsibilities include verifying patient positioning with kV/Cone Beam imaging, preparing immobilization devices, documenting in Aria/EPIC/Fluency, collaborating with physicians and nursing staff, and taking on-call rotations. Requires ARRT registration, JCERT-aligned education pathway, and BLS; proficient in EMR usage and treatment planning support, with a focus on safety and accurate treatment delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Radiation Therapy Program (JCERT-accredited or equivalent) or meets educational requirements established by ARRT
- Must be registered as a Radiation Therapy Technologist by ARRT (current)
- BLS certification obtained within orientation period and kept current
- 3 months of orientation-equivalent knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and equipment
- Ability to fabricate detailed immobilization devices and treatment aids as directed
- Strong knowledge of radiographic anatomy and therapeutic application of radiation
- Experience operating Electronic Medical Record systems in Radiation Oncology
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient instruction and team communication
- Commitment to safety protocols and high-quality patient care
- Ability to work on a rotating on-call schedule
