Job Summary
Set up treatment rooms, devices, and parameters as ordered by the Radiation Oncologist. Identify patients and monitor them during treatment, reinforcing instructions and maintaining markings. Position patients according to prescriptions, coordinate area activities and scheduling, and document thoroughly in treatment records. Perform simulations, brachytherapy procedures, and daily quality checks on equipment while maintaining devices and reporting problems. Assist in treatment device changes and follow ancillary duties such as filing, answering phones, and monitoring supplies. Work 40 weekly hours during the day shift.
Required Qualifications
- License in State of practice in Radiation Oncology (required, except for candidates hired to acute care sites in Virginia)
- Radiation Oncology Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- CPR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification
- 1 year Experience in Radiation Therapy and CT Simulation
