Job Summary

Direct daily operations of the Richmond Radiation Oncology treatment area to ensure quality patient care and safety standards. Set up treatment rooms, devices, and parameters per Radiation Oncologist orders, then identify and monitor patients during treatment while reinforcing instructions and maintaining markings. Position patients according to prescriptions, coordinate scheduling, and perform simulations, brachytherapy procedures, and daily equipment quality checks. Maintain equipment, report issues, and document thoroughly in treatment records while assisting with device changes and ancillary duties like filing and supply monitoring. Works under the guidance of the Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, and Manager to deliver high-quality care. Requires ARRT certification and state radiation oncology license.

Required Qualifications

  • License in State of practice in Radiation Oncology (required, except for candidates hired to acute care sites in Virginia)
  • Radiation Oncology Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required)
  • CPR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (required)
  • 1 year Experience in Radiation Therapy and CT Simulation (preferred)
