Job Summary
Accurately deliver radiation therapy treatments by preparing equipment, positioning patients, and verifying daily parameters on the Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator. Explain procedures to patients, schedule appointments, and perform weekly chart checks while observing for skin reactions. Conduct daily quality and safety inspections of the CT scanner and TrueBeam, manage treatment supplies, and ensure accurate billing codes. Maintain treatment records and apply quality assurance procedures to guarantee dose calculation accuracy. This full-time role in Provo's Radiation Oncology department utilizes advanced imaging modalities including SGRT and 3D conformal techniques under value-based care protocols.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT Certification
- Utah state license
- BLS Certification
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to perform verification checks and apply quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy of dose calculations
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients
- Follow department policies, procedures, and checklists to ensure safe, accurate treatments
- Ensure accuracy of billing codes for treatments
- Be able to review and understand a treatment plan to accurately treat patients
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Aria record and verify and Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator
- 2-3 years of experience as a staff radiation therapist
- CT simulation experience
