Job Summary
Delivers prescribed radiation therapy doses by verifying prescriptions, diagnosis charts, and patient identification while explaining procedures and observing safety measures. Prepares treatment rooms and equipment, immobilizes patients, and transfers them to the couch per specific prescriptions. Monitors patients for unusual reactions or complications during treatment and reports findings to supervisors and physicians. Maintains daily treatment records, reviews patient charts to eliminate errors, and ensures accurate recording of blood counts and special reports. Provides clinical supervision and evaluates students' practical ability to perform procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (AART-T)
- Certification of Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT)
- ARRT-Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
- Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT)
- All required vaccinations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology
- Master's Degree
- Experience in radiologic technology
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor
- Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice, Department of Health Services
