Job Summary
Delivers prescribed radiation therapy doses to patients by verifying prescriptions, diagnosis charts, and patient identification while explaining procedures and observing safety measures. Prepares treatment rooms and equipment, transfers patients to the couch, and monitors for unusual reactions or complications during sessions. Maintains daily treatment records and patient charts to ensure accuracy and report any developing issues to supervisors and physicians. Provides clinical supervision and evaluates students' practical abilities. Requires AART-T and TRT certifications, with a Master's degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (AART-T) and Certification of Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT)
- ARRT-Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
- Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT)
- All required vaccinations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's)
- Master's Degree
- Experience in radiologic technology
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice, Department of Health Services
