Job Summary
Administer radiation therapy accurately as prescribed and planned by the physician while safely operating computerized simulation and treatment machines. Check prescription, diagnosis, and patient identification, then explain procedures and emergency protocols to patients. Construct immobilization devices, perform machine safety checks, and utilize imaging equipment for precise tumor localization. Maintain accurate treatment chart documentation and capture daily technical charges. Monitor clinical progress to recognize and report complications, unusual reactions, or injuries to staff immediately. Deliver the prescribed dose to the correct patient in the correct area while observing radiation safety measures.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certified
- Licensed by the Oregon State Board of Medical Imaging
- AHA CPR certification
- Delivers the prescribed dose of radiation to the correct patient in the correct area
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the operations and use of the equipment assigned to including accessories
- Experience using Cone Beam CT for patient alignment
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy related to a CT scan
- Records necessary information in electronic chart thoroughly and correctly
- Captures proper daily technical charges every day
- Two years or more experience working in the field post-graduation
