Job Summary
Delivers prescribed radiation therapy doses by checking prescriptions, diagnosis charts, and patient identification while observing safety measures for patients and personnel. Prepares treatment rooms and equipment, immobilizes patients, and transfers them to the couch, explaining procedures and communication methods during treatment. Monitors patients for unusual reactions or complications, reporting findings to the supervisor and department physician. Maintains daily treatment records, reviews patient charts to eliminate errors, and ensures accurate recording of blood counts and special reports. Provides clinical supervision and evaluates students' practical ability to perform procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (AART-T)
- Certification of Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT)
- ARRT-Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
- Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice, Department of Health Services
- All required vaccinations
- E-Verify participation acknowledgment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's)
- Master's Degree
- Experience in radiologic technology
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
