Job Summary

Administer radiation therapy accurately as prescribed by a physician while reinforcing treatment advice to patients. Observe clinical progress, recognize complications, and report unusual reactions to nursing staff or the Radiation Oncologist. Assist with training, mentoring, and direct supervision of Radiation Therapy students. Safely operate computerized simulation and treatment machines, perform quality assurance protocols, and work across all unit areas. Maintain professional communication in written and oral formats with diverse clinical individuals. Requires ARRT certification within six months for students and current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging licensure.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program that meets current qualifications to take and pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) board examinations in radiation therapy upon hire.
  • Student candidates must obtain the RT(T)(ARRT) certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • Candidates must have a current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) temporary license for student hires and a permanent license for registered hires.
  • Positions with in-person patient care: BLS certificate within 30 days of hire or prior to independent practice, whichever comes first.

Desired Qualifications

  • One year (or more) working in the field post-graduation.
  • Experience with the following equipment: Varian, Elekta, Tomotherapy, Mosaiq, ExacTrac, Calypso, Philips CT, and VisionRT.
  • Familiarity with IORT, SRS, SBRT, TBI, TSEI, and HDR.
