Job Summary

Administer radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by radiation oncologists using linear accelerators and specialized equipment. Accurately position patients with immobilization devices to ensure precise delivery, while monitoring for reactions and documenting responses. Maintain detailed records of treatment plans and doses, and ensure equipment is in proper working order through quality control checks. Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and provide emotional support throughout the process. Adhere to strict safety protocols to protect staff and patients from unnecessary exposure. Collaborate closely with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiation Therapy
  • Current Texas Medical Board licensure as a Radiation Therapist
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist (clinical externship may be considered)
  • Strong technical skills with a focus on accuracy and patient safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an outpatient radiation oncology setting
  • Experience working with Varian linear accelerators and Eclipse treatment planning system
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), preferably Aria
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Familiarity with urologic oncology diagnoses and treatments
