Job Summary
Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician while traveling between LVHN/LVPG Radiation Oncology sites as necessary. Deliver prescribed courses of treatment to patients, provide continuous monitoring during procedures, and schedule daily appointments. Serves as a liaison between patients and the care team, reinforcing recommendations regarding treatment reactions and side effects while observing for unusual events. Monitors equipment inventory, participates in CT simulation procedures, and keeps current on industry developments. Trains and mentors new radiation therapists and students, supporting colleagues with current or new department equipment and procedures. Participates in on-call rotation if applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Radiation Therapy or equivalent
- Technical School Diploma Accredited Radiation Therapy Program
- Analytical ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles
- Ability to keep confidential information regarding patients, and team members
- Ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, record treatment data in patients' records, greet visitors, explain hospital policies, and/or relay patients' needs to appropriate personnel
- Knowledge and experience with electronic health records
- BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association within 90 Days
- T - Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Within 180 Days
- Travels between LVHN/LVPG Radiation Oncology sites as necessary
- Participates in on-call, if applicable
