Job Summary
Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician, delivering prescribed courses to patients while monitoring treatment and scheduling daily appointments. Serve as a liaison between patients and the care team, explaining procedures and monitoring for unusual reactions. Manage radiation equipment inventory, participate in CT simulation procedures, and train new therapists and students. Maintain current knowledge of radiation therapy trends and techniques while observing on-call requirements. Travel between LVHN/LVPG Radiation Oncology sites as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Radiation Therapy or equivalent
- Technical School Diploma Accredited Radiation Therapy Program
- Analytical ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles
- Ability to keep confidential information regarding patients, and team members
- Ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, record treatment data in patients' records, greet visitors, explain hospital policies, and/or relay patients' needs to appropriate personnel
- Knowledge and experience with electronic health records
- BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association within 90 Days
- T - Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Within 180 Days
- Travels between LVHN/LVPG Radiation Oncology sites as necessary
- Participates in on-call, if applicable
