Job Summary
Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols. Verify patient identity and treatment plans prior to each session, prepare treatment rooms and equipment, and operate linear accelerators, CT simulators, and dosimetry systems. Monitor patients throughout treatment, respond to clinical changes, educate patients on procedures and side effects, and administer contrast media as needed. Maintain accurate documentation, billing records, and quality assurance data while adhering to radiation safety and infection prevention standards. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report operational concerns to leadership. Demonstrate flexibility to support department needs, including schedule adjustments, weekends, and emergency treatments. Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- CPR BLS certification
- At least 3 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a relevant setting
- Working knowledge of all radiological equipment in the Radiation Oncology Department
- Functional knowledge of linear accelerators
- Functional knowledge of CT simulator
- Functional knowledge of computer equipment
- Functional knowledge of printers
- Functional knowledge of various radiation dosimeters
- Functional knowledge of diode system
- Functional knowledge of automatic film processors
