Job Summary
Interpret radiation oncologist prescriptions and deliver simulation and treatment summaries for patients. Perform immobilization device preparation, obtain accurate measurements and contours for dosimetry, and execute daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance procedures. Assess treatment machines, chart procedures, and provide accurate daily billing information. Assist in clinical training and evaluation of student therapists while monitoring patient progress and educating patients on treatment symptoms. Schedule and treat patients in a timely manner, ensuring effective communication with providers, patients, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Radiology Tech License in the state of practice, if applicable
- Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy
- Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Degree will be verified
