Job Summary
Conduct simulation procedures, prepare immobilization devices, and deliver ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with Radiation Oncologist prescriptions. Perform daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance checks, interpret treatment plans, and chart all simulation and treatment summaries. Assess treatment machines, obtain accurate measurements for dosimetry, and provide basic patient care and education during delivery. Monitor clinical progress for treatment symptoms and assist in student therapist training. Deliver accurate daily billing information and schedule patient treatments timely. Requires ARRT certification, BLS, and ability to lift heavy items while navigating busy hospital environments.
Required Qualifications
- Radiology Tech License in the state of practice, if applicable
- Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
