Job Summary
Deliver prescribed radiation therapy with minimal supervision to patients, including preparing patients, verifying prescriptions, and administering treatment while protecting patients from exposure. Perform simulations, assist with dosimetry procedures, monitor patients during treatment, and maintain treatment records. Communicate procedures to patients, coordinate with Radiation Oncologist and health-care team, and ensure equipment readiness and safety. Requires an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Science, AART certification, MA licensure, BLS, and at least 1 year of experience. The role emphasizes patient care, safety, chart documentation, technical proficiency with treatment machines, and collaborative practice within a radiation therapy team.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Science
- Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART)
- Licensed by the Massachusetts Radiation Control Board
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- One (1) year of experience in radiation therapy
