Job Summary
Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department applies ionizing radiation per prescription from the Radiation Oncologist, operates radiation-producing equipment with safety measures, and performs complex, precise procedures. Responsibilities include quality control monitoring, delivering precise therapy, patient assessment across age groups, EMR documentation, assisting others, recognizing limitations and seeking guidance, reporting adverse reactions, educating patients and families on side effects and treatment aids, ensuring accurate patient setup, scheduling, and following safety protocols. Additional duties include on-call rotation and serving as a clinical instructor for RTT and RTR students, with emphasis on safe operation, patient care, and adherence to physician and physicist instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or accredited program
- ARRT Radiation Therapy
- BLS or ARC-BLS Basic Life Support
- Minimum 2 years experience in Radiation Therapy
- Graduate of accredited radiation therapy program
- All certifications required upon hire unless otherwise stated
