Job Summary
Conduct tumor localization and CT simulations as ordered, then perform external beam radiation therapy treatments using the linear accelerator. Explain treatment plans to patients, answer questions, and monitor for unusual reactions while following safety procedures to prevent radiation overexposure. Perform daily quality assurance checks on machines, prepare treatment rooms, position patients, and cross-check delivery parameters to ensure accuracy. Maintain detailed records of department reports, files, and archives, and ensure current licensure, certifications, and continuing education. This role supports the comprehensive oncology care team at our Riverview office, with occasional coverage shifts at the South Tampa location.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy school
- Current/valid Florida Radiation Therapy license
- Accreditation by American Registry of Radiologic Technology
- CPR certification
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience
- Proficient in Aria
- Maintains current licensures and certifications along with yearly continuing education and recertification as required
