Job Summary
Conduct radiation therapy treatments for patients aged 15 and older by administering ionizing radiation according to written prescriptions and verifying doses in Aria. Perform tumor localization, simulate patients using CT simulators to delineate treatment areas, and assist with brachytherapy procedures and custom block production. Deliver treatments while observing patients for adverse reactions, documenting delivery, and maintaining daily output checks and quality control logs. Support clinical education for students and residents, participate in weekly chart reviews and department meetings, and maintain certification through CME credits. Schedule patient treatments, code services, and manage daily charge logs. This role involves occasional travel between Cooperstown and Oneonta locations and requires adherence to strict safety protocols regarding radiation exposure and equipment maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a two or four year radiation therapist training program
- NYS Temporary Permit
- ARRT Registered as a Radiologic Technologist/Therapist within 180 days from date of hire
- NYS Registered as a Radiologic Technologist/Therapist within 180 days from date of hire
- Experience as a radiation therapist
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
