Job Summary

Deliver radiation treatments according to written prescriptions by identifying patients, escorting them to the treatment room, positioning them, and administering therapy from the control room. Ensure safety through consistent practice of departmental procedures, accurate documentation of treatment records, and reporting deviations to the Radiation Therapy Lead. Provide patient education on side effects, reinforce care advice, and observe for treatment reactions while communicating with medical staff. Independently perform patient simulations, collect simulation data, and input treatment-related information into the EMR. Evaluate treatment delivery components via quality assurance checks, detect equipment malfunctions, and troubleshoot common quality issues. Respond to emergency situations with first aid and CPR until physician or nurse arrival, and use critical thinking to hold treatment pending oncologist consultation when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Radiation Therapy Technology
  • Minimum of one (1) year active experience as a Radiation Therapist
  • Certified as a Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Current CPR/BLS certifications
  • Fluency in the English language
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must pass RTT Registry exam within 6 months of hire if recent graduate

Desired Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Radiation Therapy Technology or other related field
  • Dual certification as a General Radiographer (ARRT) or CT Technologist
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish
