Job Summary
Deliver prescribed courses of radiation therapy accurately, confirming patient identity, diagnosis, and treatment parameters before each session. Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, position patients safely on the couch, and ensure proper dose delivery while maintaining visual contact. Perform CT simulation, document all parameters in ARIA, and conduct weekly chart checks to verify billing and accuracy. Execute daily quality assurance activities, report equipment malfunctions, and coordinate service access with engineers. Observe patients for unusual reactions, provide clear education on side effects, and escalate clinical concerns immediately. Maintain radiation safety, follow ALARA principles, and adhere to all departmental policies, HIPAA requirements, and infection-control practices.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy program, or completion of an approved certificate program
- Current ARRT registration in Radiation Therapy
- Current Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist licensure or other license required to practice in Texas
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Demonstrated ability to operate radiation therapy and simulation equipment safely
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ARIA, Eclipse, Varian TrueBeam, CT simulation, and image-guided radiation therapy
- Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist credential in Texas
- One or more years of recent radiation oncology experience
