Job Summary
Radiation Protection Technician performs radiological testing in Station and surrounding areas, calibrates instruments for detecting alpha, beta, gamma, and neutron radiation, implements radiation clearance procedures, assists in preparing radioactive material for shipment, and trains personnel in work practices while ensuring safety and compliance with Station procedures; duties include decontamination, monitoring and posting areas, collecting samples, recording and reporting conditions, and maintaining equipment in good order under directive supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet the Company's requirements as to General Qualifications; must have all the qualifications of Assistant Radiological Control Tester; two (2) years' experience; demonstrated ability in the performance of the duties; completion of prescribed courses; thorough knowledge of safety rules and procedures; ability to receive and pass on orders; training progression
