Job Summary
Experienced Radiation Protection Specialist to provide field oversight and radiological safety program oversight, review decontamination/decommissioning activities and environmental remediation work, evaluate radiological surveys and regulatory documentation, and assist in assessing contractor radiological programs; requires a technical bachelor’s degree and CHP or nuclear/radiological engineering degree, minimum five years of radiological safety experience, and DOE/10 CFR 835 and DOE Order 458.1 familiarity; U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain/maintain security clearance, drug screening, and background checks; full-time on-site role based in Bettis Atomic Laboratory, West Mifflin, PA with benefits including medical, retirement, disability coverage, FSA, PTO, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field OR Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear or Radiological Engineering
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ direct experience in radiological safety program implementation and oversight
- Certified Health Physicist (CHP) OR Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear or Radiological Engineering
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge
- Successful drug screening
- Background check after acceptance of offer; may begin employment before background check is finalized; credentialing/clearance may be required
