Job Summary
Assist senior oncologists and radiation therapists in the preparation and administration of radiation therapy sessions under strict supervision. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines regarding radiation exposure for both patients and staff. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to monitor patient progress and report any immediate changes in condition during treatment cycles. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient records, treatment logs, and clinical observations. Support the setup and calibration of radiation equipment, ensuring all machinery operates within specified parameters. Provide empathetic support and clear communication to patients and their families regarding treatment schedules and procedures. Participate in ongoing training and educational sessions to stay current with advancements in radiation oncology practices.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Medical Radiation Technology, Nursing, or a related Health Care field
- Valid licensure or certification as required by local health authorities for entry-level positions in radiation oncology
- Basic understanding of radiation safety principles
- Familiarity with oncology treatment workflows
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal communication abilities
- A compassionate approach to patient care
