Job Summary
Senior Radiation Control Tech 4 leads radiological control activities, acts as the authorized SME for development of radiological work control packages (RWCPs), coordinates work-area resources, and ensures radiological controls are properly applied for high-hazard radiological work. Role includes independent problem-solving, potential technical supervision, and leadership contributions impacting project outcomes. Must work with customers and supervision to resolve issues, anticipate problems, and operate under safety/compliance frameworks (including 10 CFR835 and DOE Order requirements). Position may require 24/7 coverage and shift/weekend work; physical ability to lift weights and work in demanding environments is required. Candidates must have high school diploma plus five+ years of related experience (or equivalent), and obtain a Q clearance with U.S. citizenship; additional degrees or certifications may be expected. Working location: Los Alamos, NM, USA; travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five or more years of related radiological experience
- Ability to obtain Q clearance (US Citizenship required)
- US Citizenship or Rare exceptions for clearance
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and wear PPE including respiratory protection
- Strong technical leadership and ability to develop RWCPs
- Experience with radiological controls and high-hazard radiological work
- Knowledge of 10 CFR835 and DOE Orders
