Job Summary
Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographic images independently while adhering to positioning guidelines and ALARA radiation safety principles. Prepare patients for procedures, verify orders using two identifiers, and explain techniques to ensure comfort. Clean imaging equipment per infection control protocols, insert IV catheters for contrast injections during CT or MRI, and scan documents into PACS for radiologist interpretation. Communicate effectively with healthcare teams and identify image artifacts to maintain optimal quality. Requires ARRT certification, state licensure, and BCLS.
Required Qualifications
- 0-1 years of clinical experience as a radiologic technologist
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state
- BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire
- Strong knowledge of radiologic imaging techniques, patient positioning, and radiation safety
- Proficiency in operating radiographic equipment and troubleshooting technical issues
- Excellent patient-care and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize imaging abnormalities and artifacts
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and radiology information systems (RIS)
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining radiology equipment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Understanding of radiation safety and infection control protocols
- Strong organizational skills to ensure accurate imaging and documentation
